The Dynamics of Information Access on the Web

Albert-László Barabási of the University of Notre Dame said that results of the research of his team document the fleeting quality of news and events: while fifteen minutes of fame is still an exaggeration in the online media, they find that access to most news items significantly decays after 36 hours of posting. This should give journalists hope, even in the era of instant news.
